Craig Holfeld joined Rhett Szevics and Nolan Perry in victory lane for the Tire Exchange Eve of Destruction this past Saturday at Western Speedway, featuring the LORDCO Auto Parts Demo Series.
Richard Morgan and Billy Stidston led the Demo Car and Truck field to the green for 15 laps of main event action. Going into turn one, Brandon Young jumped out to an early lead, with brother Shawn slotting into second. The brothers would battle for the next seven laps before Shawn would eventually make the move for the lead.
Craig Holfeld slotted into second behind him in the closing stages of the race, and was a constant presence in Shawn’s rear view mirror for the last half of the race. Coming off of the final corner on the last lap, Holfeld sent Young spinning into the outside wall, and drove off to capture his second main event win of the season.
Cody Young, Jim Young, Billy Stidston, and Brandon Young rounded out the top five finishing positions.
The next race at Western Speedway is July 15th, for the Hometown Heroes Night at the Races, featuring the Keg Late Models Twin 50’s, Galaxy Motors Stock Cars, and the Sooke Disposal Mini Stocks.
