Chilliwack soccer star Jordyn Huitema is bringing home bronze from the 2016 CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship.
Huitema, a 14 year old Rosedale native who got her soccer start with Chilliwack FC, travelled to Grenada for the tourney, which ran Mar. 3-13.
Her team went 2-1 in group play, with Huitema exploding for two goals in a 7-0 victory over Grenada last week.
Her squad lost 5-0 to the United States in a semi-final on Saturday, but rebounded to double up Haiti 4-2 in the bronze medal match.
After coming off the bench as a substitute in group play, Huitema was in the starting lineup against the United States and the Haitians.
She went the distance against the U-S and played 85 minutes against Haiti.
The U-S ended up winning the championship with a 2-1 win over Mexico.
