The Valley Huskers wrap up the 2014 BC Football Conference season Saturday night, hosting the Langley Rams under the lights at Exhibition Stadium.
Kickoff is 7 p.m. as the locals (1-9) take on one of the BCFC’s top squads.
Langley (6-3) is in the playoffs win or lose, facing the Kamloops Broncos. The only question is whether they start at home or on the road. The Huskers won’t be in the playoffs, but look to end the season on a high-note after beating the Victoria Rebels 39-28 last weekend.
The Rams pummelled the Huskers 46-7 four weeks ago, doing all of their offensive damage in the first half.
“They (Langley) kept their starting quarterback and receivers on right till the end of that game,” said Husker head coach Adam Smith. “It gave our kids something to build off. I hope we can put up a good fight and be in a ball game that ends on a positive note.”
Half time includes a scrimmage between two Chilliwack Minor Football teams. The Huskers are also demonstrating support for Breast Cancer Awareness, asking their fans to wear something pink.
“Many players will be heading home and we’d like the grandstands full of our loyal supporters to give them a great Chilliwack send-off,” said Huskers president Jack Covey.
