People are getting excited with the news of gold medal Olympic wrestler, Carol Huynh making a return to the Hazeltons next week.
She is coming with a crew from CTV to film a special and will making her first stop at Hazelton Secondary School at 9 a.m. Friday morning.
Since her monumental win at the 2008 Olympic Games, Huynh has gone above and beyond to reach and help as many people as she could.
She has been a motivational sports speaker for MCP Speakers who boast that her “thoughtful demeanour and humility resonate with corporate and youth audiences alike” and for her home town crowd, they couldn’t agree more.
While Huynh has been dedicated to helping others and making the most of her accomplishments, she has not stopped training these past few years and has continued to add to her growing number of medals and matches.
Last year at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games she captured gold once again in the 48 kilogram weight class defeating the crowd favourite, Nirmila Devi of India, 7-3 in the final.
With the 2012 Summer Olympics on the horizon, it is expected that Huynh will announce her intent to compete once again.
For many Hazelton residents, friends and former classmates, this coming week has the potential once again to spark dreams and inspire others to reach for the top.
