The Ice Cold Pitches are playing the waiting game in the Vernon Women’s Slo-Pitch League playoffs.

The first-place Ice Cold Pitches (10-0) gutted the White House Gators 19-7 in the semifinals Wednesday night at Kin Park.

The Pitches hit the ball well and played great defence. Jenny Gartner cranked a dinger and Tracy Bell and Taylor Weixl each went 4-for-4.

Jacqui Rivard added a triple and Shaina McGiverin went 3-for-3.

Tiffany Disher and Lynn Gregoire both rapped a pair of singles and a double with one RBI for the Gators.

Jayden Horochuck drove in two runs on two hits, while Melissa Locke was 2-for-3 with one ribbie and Kate Carter also went 2-for-3.

The Ice Cold Pitches slipped past Jock’s Dynamite 14-13 earlier Wednesday night. Gartner and Krista Horton each went 3-for-3.

The Pitches battle the winner of the Gators-Lumby Ted Luszcz Bulldozing Dozers in next Wednesday’s championship at 7:15 p.m.

The Gators play the Dozers at 6 p.m. If the undefeated Ice Cold Pitches lose, a second game will be played the following Wednesday night.

The Dozers proved to coach Jon Kineshanko to never count them out as they plowed over the Devils and Dynamite in a pair of playoff action wins Wednesday night with only nine players on the field.

Tara Young was 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI as the Dozers dusted off the Devils 21-4.

Wendy Sherman was 4-for-4 with one ribbie, while shortstop Tanis Ricketts was 4-for-6 with 2 RBI to help the Dozers.

Traci Kenney rapped a double, two singles and one RBI, while Michelle Mulholland drove in one run with two hits.

The Dozers toppled the Nitros 14-8 in their nightcap with Tracy Carey supplying four hits, including a double, and two RBI.

Kas O’Neil was 4-for-5 with 2 RBI, while pitcher Sherry Kineshanko was 4-for-5 with a run-scoring triple and Vanessa Bostock stroked two doubles and a single.

Young, Bostock and O’Neill covered a lot of ground on the open outfield.

There are five teams in the women’s league.
