The local peewee female Icebreakers hockey team capped off a fantastic season, going undefeated in the regular season and playoffs to capture the female peewee “C” league championship.

Playing in a six-team division that includes teams from from Victoria to Campbell River, the 11-12 year old girls team went 10–0 in league play, winning their first of two championship banners of the season.

After winning the regular season championship, the Icebreakers beat Campbell River 3-1 in the playoff championship game, earning their second banner of the season and finishing the season without a loss.

Led by top scorers Jenna Rodway and Sam Lillywhite, the rest of the forward core (Emersyn Hall, Jordyn Bleaney and Miranda Brooks) along with the defense (Breanne Powell, Jenna Mohl, Holly Henderson and Elise Grabove) meshed well together while goaltender Violet “Carey Price” McEwen backstopped the Icebreakers.

The team also welcomed in Camryn Wheldon, who just started playing hockey in January.
