Comox Valley Glacier Kings’ defenceman Garrett Halls and forward Mitch Ball have been named by the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League as Kirby’s Source for Sports

Players of the Week.

Halls and Ball were instrumental in the Yetis four consecutive wins heading into the league’s Christmas break.

Halls totalled seven points in two games this week (two goals, five assists) and has earned 20 points in 25 games so far this season. Ball earned nine points in three games (five goals, four assists) including a hat trick in Campbell River, a five-point effort against Oceanside and the game-winning goal against

Campbell River at home.  Ball is leading the North Division in scoring with 48 points in 32 games, and sits fifth in the league for points.

Glacier Kings head coach Bill Rotheisler, on Halls and Ball receiving player of the week honours:  “Both players are absolutely deserving of this recognition.  Both alternate

captains, they possess the qualities we encourage and demand of our players with their commitment to team play, discipline and work ethic that far exceed the average player. They are examples of how those qualities breed success.”

The Glacier Kings hit the ice on Jan. 3 in Nanaimo to play the Buccaneers.
