The Interlakes Snowmobile Club did its part for charity on Feb. 26 with its Winterfest ride in support of the BC Lions Club for Children with Disabilities.

Superb snow conditions in the Hager Mountain area greeted the 15 riders who spent a day on the trails and succeeded in raising $1,435.

Club treasurer and Winterfest chairperson Marie-Jo Chave raised $800 on her own.

Winterfest is an annual event held by snowmobile clubs that are affiliated with the ABC Snowmobile Clubs.

The Interlakes club had 80 members registered for the 2010/11 season, and from mid-February through March, the club offered weekend group rides for members to participate in.
