Both the Intermediate and Junior A Shamrocks picked up wins at The Q Centre last Saturday.
The Junior Shamrocks were not to be outdone last Saturday as they put an end to a five game losing streak, tallying a hard fought 9-7 win over the Port Coquitlam Saints at The Q Centre.
Between the pipes, Spencer Erqin made 47 saves setting the tone for the game.
Leading the offense, Brad McCulley had a pair of goals while Nick Preston added a goal and four assists. Nick Murray, Daniel Smith, Jake Campbell, Skyler Wilson and Cole Pickup added singles and Braylon Lumb chipped in 3 helpers.
The Jr. ‘Rocks hit the road Sunday, travelling to Delta to take on the Islanders. Picking up momentum the team added another to the win column with a 16-6 upset. Erwin had another strong performance between the pipes, stopping 32 shots. Pickup led the way with two goals and six assists while Lumb had three goals and three assists, and McCulley added two goals and three helpers. Griffin Wilson, Preston, Smith and Skyler also had two goals apiece and Brian Robb added a goal and four assists to the final count. The team sits in fourth in the standings and are back in The Q Centre this Sunday at 2 p.m. to host the New Westminstrer Salmonbellies.
The Intermediate ‘Rocks beat the Burnaby Lakers 15-7 Saturday afternoon as Thomas Vaesen led Victoria’s offense with five goals. He was joined by Caleb Kueber and Josh Pickford, who each had two goals and two assists, Brayden Brown with a hat trick and three helpers, and with Riley Condon, Jackson Boyd and Brody Black adding singles.
