VI Coaches Celebrate International Coaching Week, Feb 6-11.
In recognition of International Coaching Week, the Vancouver Island Coaches Association (VI Coaches) is inviting the public to experience the value of personal and professional coaching. A series of thought-provoking webinars and an interactive half-day conference have been planned during the week of Feb. 6-11.
Because February is Heart Month, the theme for the week’s events is “What’s at the Heart of Coaching?” The focus will be on coaching with heart and coaching in the heart of local communities and organizations, as well as in the heart of the global community.
Participants can access a full week of virtual webinars starting Feb. 6. They can choose from among such topics as ‘Leadership the Next Wave; An important Message from Upcoming Leaders,’ ‘The Art of Asking Powerful Questions,’ ‘How to Give and Receive Effective Feedback with Head and Heart,’ ‘Building a Coaching Culture,’ ‘Group Coaching – What? So What? Now What?’ and ‘Making the Right Decision the First Time Around,’ to name a few. These webinars are open to everyone and can be accessed from anywhere. Participants are encouraged to select topics that address their particular professional, organizational or personal needs.
An interactive, face-to-face conference “The Heart of Coaching”
will take place Feb. 9 at the Parkside Victoria, Humboldt Street, Victoria. Hosted by the VI Coaches, the event will feature sessions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with something of interest for all members of the community. Partial proceeds from the conference will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in recognition of Heart Month.
Registration for the webinars and the half-day conference is now open online. Go to the Events section at www.vicoaches.org. The site also contains the list of webinar dates, times, and topics as well as additional information about the conference.
Sherry LeBlanc, president of the VI Coaches Chapter of the International Coach Federation, puts it this way:
“Although our coaching community is quite diverse in geography and coaching genres, the Vancouver Island Coaches Association’s vision for International Coaching Week is for coaches and clients to educate the public about the value of working with a professional coach and to acknowledge the results and progress made through the coaching process.
“So offering the learning platform of webinars is an innovative, affordable and accessible way for people to learn and to gain access to many of Vancouver Island’s professional coaches who are dedicating their time to facilitate and educate,” LeBlanc said.
“In addition, we will be hosting a half-day face-to-face event with a panel of Coaching School representatives and a heartfelt presentation by an Island coach who has been coaching on a global initiative. We are also excited to share that there will be an opportunity for attendees to have a coaching session with a professional ICF coach. What better way to discover the power of coaching than to actually experience it?”
Organizers say the week will be a terrific opportunity for individuals and organizations from all parts of Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands to discover the resources available through the VI Coaches Association’s diverse membership of business, leadership and personal coaches.
The Vancouver Island Coaches Association (VI Coaches) is actively engaged in creating an inclusive community that provides high quality learning experiences from a coaching perspective for coaches, professionals, organizations, corporations, consultants, human resources professionals, entrepreneurs, executives and anyone who wants to expand their reach.
