Roller derby was making a comeback – in the Comox Valley – with two women’s teams hard at practice.

The BC Seniors Games office opened in the Comox Valley.

The Vanier senior girls rugby team finished second at the Island championships.

Coaches from the B.C. Lions and SFU led the annual Comox Valley Raiders youth football camp.

The Comox Valley Sports & Social Club’s spring programs were underway.

The Evolution U17 girls rep soccer team won the Island Cup.

The 16U Strikers girls volleyball team won the Island championship.

Two local rinks competed in the Pacific Cup international bonspiel in Richmond.

JUNE

The Parksville Royals baseball team of the B.C. Premier League, featuring several local players, won a pair of games at Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver.

Thyssen de Goede and Kelsey Tufnail were inducted into G.P. Vanier’s Sports Wall of Fame.

Lacrosse and minor hockey stalwart Karver Everson was drafted by the Jr. A North American Hockey League Dawson Creek Rage.

Happy’s Source for Sports Indians defended their Master’s baseball Yew Bat tourney championship.

Greg Koster won the B.C. Men’s Mid-Island Amateur golf championship.

Logan Yanick was the hometown favourite when Crown Isle hosted the B.C. boys junior golf championships.

Pallino Necklace emerged victorious at the annual Bocce Bash.

Long distance specialist Cam Levins set a record at the Nautical Days 4-Mile Foot Race in Comox, eclipsing his own course best while winning the event for the third straight year.
