Alexis Creek’s Jake Ilnicki is becoming quite the world traveller.
England’s Northampton Saints of the Aviva Premiership announced Monday they’d signed the 24-year-old prop until the end of the 2016/17 season.
Ilnicki has played 18 times for his country, including starting all three of Canada’s autumn international test matches this past November.
He’s experienced professional rugby across the world having played for the Manawatu Turbos in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship, the New South Wales Country Eagles, as well as in Australia’s National Rugby Championship and, last year, for the San Diego Breakers of the new PRO Rugby organization in the U.S.
In Canada, Ilnicki has suited up for the Williams Lake Rustlers, the University of Victoria and the Castaway Wanderers in Victoria.
Ilnicki has arrived at Franklin’s Gardens — the home of the Saints — and will make his debut in tonight’s clash with bitter rivals, Leicester.
