The North Delta Blue Jays remain at .500 in B.C. Premier Baseball League play, winning once in a doubleheader against the White Rock Tritons Saturday afternoon at Mackie Park.
Cam Frick drove in two runs and scored another in a 6-3 victory in the first game. Tanner Rutledge went two-for-three with a double.
Douglas Strohan got the win, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on three hits and a pair of walks.
Steven VanVooght earned the save, allowing a double before forcing the final two Tritons batters to ground out to end the game.
Blue Jays batters managed just three hits in the second game, and lost 5-0.
Seaquam Secondary student Josh Larsen threw a complete-game shutout for the Tritons, striking out 13 batters and walking just two.
Jeff Bouchard, Quinn Allen and Nolan Ramsden all singled for the Blue Jays, who left seven men on base.
Jordan Callow got the win and VanVooght collected a save last Tuesday in a 4-1 North Delta win over the Fraser Valley Chiefs at Mackie Park.
Callow pitched five innings, and gave up one earned run on two hits, striking out five batters. VanVooght threw two innings in relief, walking just one batter while earning a pair of strikeouts.
Shane Wlodarczak with a hit, two runs batted in and a run scored was the top Blue Jays batter.
North Delta, at 4-4 (won-lost) on the season, will host the 4-2 Coquitlam Reds for two games Sunday at Mackie Park. The first game is scheduled to start at noon.
