The Westshore Rebels will look to win their first Canadian Bowl when they host the Saskatoon Hilltops this Saturday (Nov. 12) at Westhills Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
Following back-to-back games against the Powell River Kings Friday (Nov. 11) and Saturday on the Sunshine Coast, the Victoria Grizzlies return to the local ice on Nov.18 when they host Alberni Valley at 7 p.m at The Q Centre.
For more West Shore junior hockey, the Westshore Wolves start the week Wednesday, Nov. 16 when they host the Victoria Cougars at The Q Centre at 7 p.m. Later in the week, The Wolves take on the Saanich Braves at Pearkes at 6:30 p.m.
Starting Thursday, the Juan de Fuca Midget Tier 1 Grizzlies hockey co-host the AAA Greater Victoria Midget Hockey Classic along with the Saanich T1 Braves and Peninsula T2 Eagles.
The Grizzlies open play at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 10 against the Kelowna Rockets at Juan de Fuca arena. They continue play Friday against the Burnaby Winter Club Bruins at 3:15 p.m. at Oak Bay Arena. Then on Saturday the Grizzlies face the Vancouver Thunderbirds at Naden Arena at 9 a.m. and the Hollyburn Huskies at 4:40 p.m. at Panorama Recreation Centre.
Playoffs take place Sunday, Nov. 13, with the second-seed consolation game at Westhills arena at 12:30 p.m. and the gold medal game at 2 p.m. at Panorama.

The Victoria Royals return to the ice to host the Tri-City Americans Friday (Nov. 11) and Saturday night in back-to-back 7:05 p.m. starts at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. The Royals are back in action next Tuesday against the Prince Albert Raiders also 7:05 p.m. at the Save-on Centre.
Turning to the rugby pitch, Barnard Cup play takes the Westshore premier team to James Bay Saturday, Nov. 12.
The premier women have a weekend off before returning to host Capilano at Juan De Fuca Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11:30 a.m. The Westshore 2 Div. 2 men are also back in action Nov. 19, hosting Cowichan at 12:15 p.m. at Juan De Fuca.
In West Shore soccer, Div. 2 action has Westcastle United hosting the Prospect Lake Lakers Saturday, Nov. 12. Play begins at Westhills Stadium at 7 p.m.
On the women’s side, Juan De Fuca United Div. 1 welcomes Vic West FC Friday (Nov. 11) with an 8 a.m. start. The Juan de Fuca FC women face Gorge FC Sunday, Nov. 13 at noon. Fields for both games were still being determined at press time. Confirm at www.liwsa.com.
Come Sunday, Nov. 13, Juan de Fuca United visits Fernwood City at Vic High, with a 10 a.m. kick-off.
While senior high school sports are in playoff mode, middle school basketball continues to heat up the hardwood. Tuesday, Nov. 14 brings Glanford’s Grade 6/7 girls to Dunsmuir middle school while Spencer visits Monterey at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 brings Dunsmuir’s Grade 7/8 boys and girls to Spencer while Thursday, Nov. 16 has the Spencer Grade 6/7 boys welcoming St. Michaels University School for a 3:45 p.m. tip-off.
