Football fans celebrate this weekend as the Westshore Rebels kick off their season this Sunday (July 24) when they host the Langley Rams at 4 p.m. at Westhills Stadium. The Vancouver Island Raiders visit next, on Saturday, July 30 for a 7 p.m. game at Westhills.
In baseball action, the Victoria Harbourcats finish their home series with the Bellingham Bells on Friday night (July 22) at 6:35 p.m., before heading out on the road to face the Corvallis Knights July 23 to 25. Next up are the Walla Walla Sweets, visiting Victoria for a three-game series. Games next Tuesday and Wednesday get underway at 6:35 p.m. at Royal Athletic Park, while Thursday, July 28’s contest starts at 1:05 p.m.
From the diamond to the pitch, the Metchosin men’s cricket team welcomes the UVic team for a noon start Saturday (July 23). Head to the Metchosin sports field, behind the Metchosin municipal hall, to catch the action.
Looking to extend their three-game win streak, the Victoria Shamrocks start their lacrosse week with two away games in Burnaby and Langley, returning home Friday, July 29 to host the Burnaby Lakers at 7:45 p.m. at The Q Centre.
