The Victoria Grizzlies finish September at home, hosting the Coquitlam Express at The Q Centre at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 30). Following a road trip to Powell River, the Grizz return home Friday, Oct. 7 to host the Cowichan Valley Capitals, again at 7.
Following a trip to Campbell River on Friday, the Westshore Wolves return home Wednesday, Oct. 5 to face the Victoria Cougars at 7 p.m. at The Q Centre. The Wolves finish in Comox when they take on the Glacier Kings on Friday, Oct. 7.
In Western Hockey League play, the Victoria Royals host Kelowna in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday at Save on Foods Memorial Centre at 7:05 p.m.
Turning to the gridiron, the Westshore Rebels finish their regular season when they host the Kamloops Broncos at Westhills Stadium at 4 p.m. Saturday. Come out for what’s sure to be an action-packed final game for the Rebels.
With the high school senior boys soccer season underway, Tuesday, Oct. 4 has Royal Bay hosting Lambrick at 3:45 p.m. before the West Shore boys head to Claremont Thursday, Oct. 6. Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m. In Junior boys soccer, Royal Bay hosts St. Michaels University School at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3.
West Shore runners will join those from across the region at Henderson Field Thursday, Oct. 6 for this week’s high school cross country competition. The meet starts at 3:35 p.m. with the final event taking place at 4:05.
Senior girls volleyball also continues Tuesday, Oct. 4, as Belmont heads to Oak Bay High to take on Oak Bay and Mount Doug. Games begin at 6 p.m.
Turning to the Vancouver Island Soccer League, the Div. 2 Westcastle United men visit Vantreights at 2:15 p.m. this Sunday at Blanshard Field.
In Premier rugby play, Westshore Premier and Div. 1 squads visit James Bay AA this Saturday, with the Div. 1 men kicking off at 1 p.m. and the Premiers at 2:45 p.m.
