The inaugural Jordan Siegmueller Memorial Golf Tournament is garnering a lot of interest, said organizer Crystal Wells.
Slated for April 29, the tournament filled up in just under five business days.
“We have 144 registered plus there’s a wait list,” Well said.
Funds raised will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Williams Lake and District and to two Lake City secondary bursaries.
The bursaries are for $1,000 each and will be awarded to two Grade 12 student athletes.
The tournament includes golf, goodie bags, dinner and a prize and will be a big hole tournament contested in three divisions: competitive, mixed and fun.
“The fee includes a dance hosted by DJ Lynden Grosso, who’s donating his services,” Wells said. “The support has been overwhelming from the business community donating.
“So many people have stepped up huge and it’s a great way to honour Jordan doing something he loved.
“There will be bucket draw prizes pre-sold at the course, and two flights round trip from Williams Lake to Vancouver that have been donated by Pacific Coastal.”
There’s also been an $1,100 generator donated by Chemo RV, plus golf packages from around B.C., a car stereo and installation, and more.
Wells said they are still looking for volunteers to help with a barbecue during the day if anyone is interested in helping out at the tournament.

Siegmueller was an employee and avid lover of golf at the Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club when he passed away at the age of 24 years old last July when he accidentally fell into the Fraser River.
“We’d like to thank the course for donating the green fees,” Wells said.
