The Abbotsford Junior Cardinals’ post-season aspirations fell a little short on the weekend.
The Junior Cards finished fourth with a 2-3 record through the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League (BCJPBL) provincial championships.
They claimed a pair of wins over the North Delta Junior Blue Jays but dropped their remaining three against the White Rock Junior Tritons, North Shore Junior Twins and this year’s BCJPBL champions, the Whalley Junior Chiefs.
Cardinals pitcher Jarod Manick managed to top the board among strikeout leaders with 14 through 10 innings pitched.
Cardinals players Cade Smith and Brett Bass will be joining the Team BC baseball squad, August 12-16, for the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games.
