Junior cyclists enjoying success at various events

Comox Valley Cycling Club juniors have been having some fun racing over the past weeks, with events locally and in Washington State.

The juniors represented the club in Enumclaw, Wash. over the Victoria Day long weekend, testing their skills at a challenging stage race. The event included a time trial, road race and criterium (short circuit race). For some the events were a new experience and tested their developing skills.

This past weekend, juniors raced in Victoria at the Kona Russ Hays Time Trial and Bastion Square Criterium. The club was represented on the podium with the juniors finishing first and second in the overall results.

At home this past weekend, some of the juniors competed in the Comox Valley Shoreline Orthodontics Tri-K. Each of the juniors showed their strength as cyclists in both the team and individual events, with finishes on the podium once again.

As always the juniors benefit a great deal from the generosity of their fellow club mates who allow them to borrow equipment, such as racing wheels, helmets and even bikes, that the juniors would otherwise not have the opportunity to use.

The juniors also benefit from local businesses, such as Brian McLean, Eat More Sprouts, Simon Cycles, Mike Fisher Realty, Airport Srvice & Mini Storage and Trail Bicycles who support the Comox Valley Cycling Club in general.
