Young golfers came to Langley’s Pagoda Ridge Golf Course May 6 and 7 to try to qualify for an IMG Academy Junior World Championship tournament.
The weekend tournament, the Lindsay Kenney Classic, for golfers from 10 years old to college players saw some Langley players placed prominently among the top tier.
In the U15 Girls category, Emma Yang came second, with 148 over two days, and Caewon Baek third with 149. They were both behind Euna Han of Coquitlam, who scored 131.
Caleb Davies, 12, of Langley was tied for seventh in the Peewee boys division, with a score of 164.
Collegiate Mens winner was Tyler Leclair of North Vancouver, Junior boys was 17-year-old Samuel Su of Surrey, and Michael Crisologo, 16, of Richmond, won the Juvenile Boys division. Bailey Bjoarnson of Surrey, 13, won the Bantam Boys while Justin Bjornson, 11, won Peewee Boys.
Gilrs 15-18 went to Susan Xiao of Surrey.
The classic is a qualifier for the IMG Academy Junior World Championship, to be held in San Diego in July.
