Junior Thunder double up Islanders

Langley junior A lacrosse team puts game away early in 12-6 victory

After surrendering the first goal of the game, the Langley Junior Thunder reeled off nine of the next 10 goals en route to a 12-6 victory.

The Thunder were at the Ladner Leisure Centre to face the Delta Islanders in BC Junior A Lacrosse League.

Coupled with a 10-9 overtime loss on May 25 to New Westminster, Langley sits at 6-3 on the season.

Nathan Mckeigan (four goals, one assist) and Ryan Martel (three goals, three assists) led the offence for Langley.

Christian Bosa (two goals, one assist) and Trevor Chernoff (one goal, three assists) also had big games while Mason Hicks (one goal, one assist) and Aaron Skye (one goal) rounded out the offence. Bobby Kidd III, Andrew Gresham and Mitch McDole chipped in a pair of assists apiece.

In goal, Jake Sundar stopped 39 of 45 shots.

The teams will complete their home-and-home series as they hit the floor at the Langley Events Centre on June 1.
