Kamprath named Glacier Kings’ assistant coach

Former Comox Valley captain played three seasons in VIJHL

FORMER GLACIER KING Jordan Kamprath will be the team's assistant coach next season.

The Comox Valley Glacier Kings have announced that graduate player Jordan Kamprath will be an assistant coach with the team for the 2014-15 Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League season.

“Jordan joined the Glacier Kings as a player in 2011 and played three seasons in the VIJHL,” the team notes on its website.

“Jordan’s passion, enthusiasm, and love for the game, both on and off the ice are a great addition to our already knowledgeable and dedicated coaching staff.”

The 20-year-old Kamprath hails from Boyle, Alta. In 37 games with the Yetis in 2011-12 Kamprath had 26 points. In 2012-13 he played 25 games and had 27 points with the Icemen then was traded to the Campbell River Storm where he scored 19 points in 16 games. He also played one game with the Jr. A BCHL Powell River Kings.

In 2013-14 Kamprath played 24 games for the Storm, collecting 15 points, then returned to the Glacier Kings, where he skated in nine regular season games (11 points) and 11 playoff games (10 points).
