Kelowna Marketplace IGA stopped Penticton United 3-1 in the Capri Insurance Men’s 45+ Soccer League playoff final Sunday night at Beasley Park in Lake Country.
Penticton, who won the league title at 20-1-1, went up in the 15th minute of the well-played tilt when Rob Gunning connected.
IGA (second place at 18-2-2) equalized five minutes later when Jimmy Kruiper converted.
Kelowna grabbed the lead 10 minutes before the half when Kruiper was taken down in the box and Donny Brown stepped up to nail it in the bottom right corner.
Penticton applied constant pressure in the first 15 minutes of the second half, but IGA settled down and played their stellar control game.
Kelowna was awarded a direct penalty from near the 25-yard line and Dante Zanatta and buried it top left corner.
