After competing hard in the qualifying events, Kelowna rower Nicole Samuelson has qualified for the B.C. Summer Games in Surrey to be held July 19 to 22.
Samuelson took up rowing in 2011 and after completing a junior Learn to Row program, she caught the rowing bug and hits the water early in the mornings at least three times a week.
Kelowna Rowing Club coach Thomas Cameron has been preparing Samuelson for the big event this month with both on land and on water training. One of her warm up events was at this years’ annual Lap the Lake event at the Vernon Rowing and Paddling Centre (VRPC) on Swan Lake
“We wish Nicole good luck at the B.C. Games and are very proud that a young lady works so hard to achieve such success,” stated a Kelowna Rowing Club press release
