The Vernon H&l Glass Chili Peppers bowed 9-8 to Kelowna #1 in Sunday’s Pee Wee girls bronze-medal game of the Vernon Summer Classic Minor Fastball Tournament.
The Peppers were up by two runs in the final inning, but gave up three runs.
First baseman Lexie Edwards was the game MVP for the Peppers, who are coached by Ryan Williamson and Rick Gosselin.
The Peppers stopped the Penticton Power 11-7 in their tourney opener with pitcher Jaimee Gosselin earning game MVP.
Vernon then lost 10-9 to the Kelowna Hornets with pitcher Alabama Chevrier taking game MVP honours.
Shortstop Sarah Jones was the game MVP as H&L edged the Richmond Panthers 6-5 to finish second in the round-robin.
The Peppers won their first playoff game Sunday 9-8 over Westside 9-8 with catcher Sydnee Hughes taking MVP.
Vernon then fell 11-2 to the Richmond Panthers with first baseman Shayle Routley earning MVP.
The girls continue regular league play the next two weekends leading up to the District playoffs June 18 in Rutland.
