U 11 girls
• Kelowna United-Burn 0 Penticton 0; Kelowna United Burn 1 Kamloops Orange 1.
The Burn thoroughly dominated possession in both games. The passing and ball control were excellent and most of the time was spent in the attacking half of the field. Yet despite manufacturing a number of good scoring opportunities, they had difficulty converting.
• Kelowna United-Wreckers 8 Kamloops Orange/Blue 0
Kelowna Wreckers took an early lead and dominated in their season openers this Sunday in two games against Kamloops. Excellent defending by Chloe Dalgarno, Ella Rolleston, Avery Chalmers, Madison Shanks, Rachel Mcinnes, Annika Gross and Lydia Keating created some excellent score opportunities. Goals came from Madison Shanks, Annika Gross, Rachel Mcinnes, Centel Zol, Lydia Keating, Molly Small, Naomi Sterns and Macalle White.
U12 girls
• Kelowna United-Fusion 2 Penticton 1
The KU girls moved the ball around very well, maintaining the majority of ball possession all game. Rylee Semeniuk scored on a nice solo effort, splitting the Penticton defenders and placing a shot low left to open the scoring at the 14 min mark. KU continued to take shots on the Penticton goal, and just before half time, Audrey Wittman poked home a rebound to put KU up by two.
At the 45th minute, Payton Ward stepped into a loose ball at the 30 yard line and pounded it off the post. Goalie Sophie Gibson recorded her first shutout of the season.
• Kelowna United Fusion 6 Vernon 1
Down 1-0 early, Kelowna showed their resilience and character by continuing to play their game, which paid off at the 24 minute mark when Rylee Semeniuk scored off a well-placed corner kick. Alysia Foster took the Vernon goalie by surprise when she scored from the right flank, ending the half with KU up 2-1. Three minutes into the second half Brooke Barcelona volleyed in a Kassidy Day corner kick. Three minutes later, Foster scored her second of the game after a nice through ball from Lindsay Notte. Chayce Taylor and Foster, with her hat-trick goal, rounded out the scoring.
• Kelowna United Crushers 1 Kamloops Blaze 0
On a great opening day in sunny Penticton, both teams looked a little scrappy and struggled to maintain any kind of possession. Twenty minutes into the second half, a corner kick, taken by Selina Arima, was deflected in by a Kamloops player for a goal. Kelowna held on to the lead through the second half as Kamloops pressed to tie it up but keeper Yan Liang made a couple of quality saves to maintain the lead.
• Kelowna United Crushers 1 Vernon United
The Kelowna team looked ready from the start, scoring two very quick goals. The first came from Jassana Kunz assisted by Jessye Large and the second from Jessye Large assisted by Ske Neal.
Midway thru the second half, Ashlyn Eisenkrein took the ball from her halfway line beating several Vernon defenders and slotting in Kelowna’s third goal. Kelowna’s defence had no problems in the back and dealt with any threat Vernon conjured up.
U12 boys
• Kelowna United Gladiators 2 Kamloops 1
The Kelowna United Football Club U12 boys Gladiators team played their first two games of the new season this past Sunday and won both games. After a slow start, the Gladiators scored 10 unanswered goals to beat the two Kamloops teams they faced in Vernon. Defensively the team was solid conceding only one goal over two games. All players performed extremely well, and Julius Kerner, Cole MacEwan, Miguel Ambrosio, Noah Kroker and Emilio Aguiar scored the goals.

U14 boys
• Kelowna United 4 Kamloops Blaze 1
Ethan Attwood scored the first goal of the game about 15 minutes into the first half, followed 10 minutes later by Harrison deHaas. The Kamloops Blaze came back with their only goal of the game at the end of the first half. deHaas scored again in the second half along with Alex Gross, giving the KU team a three-goal win against a great team.
“We are proud of the efforts and results of the team,” said coaches Tim Carolei and Grant Steven.
• U16 boys
Kelowna United 1 Shuswap 1
Leading 1-0, Shuswap was called on a hand ball in the second half and Kealan Cangiano had a great free kick towards the net. After several KU players headed the ball in front of the net, Cameron Ambrosio was able to kick it in through the melee, to tie the game. The game got spirited as both teams were desperate for the win. KU had a corner kick goal ruled offside, and did not get another chance to score.
