Kelowna Minor Hockey product T.J. Dumonceaux has been named the Vernon Vipers’ team MVP for the 2014-15 BCHL season.
In 50 games this season, the 20-year-old Dumonceaux scored 27 goals and added 14 assists.
He also tops the Vipers in power play goals with 13.
Dumonceaux is completing his third full season with Vernon. He is committed to Bentley University in Massachusetts for the 2015-16 season.
Another Okanagan hockey product, Liam Finlay, was chosen as the Vipers rookie of the year.
Finlay, a former member of the BCMML’s Okanagan Rockets, was named Vernon’s rookie of the year.
In 54 games, the 18-year-old had a team best 63 points on 20 goals and 43 assists.
A third player with Kelowna ties, Mitchell Oliver, was named the Vipers’ scholastic player of the year.
A 17-year-old defenceman, who is a former Kelowna Minor Hockey product and member of the major midget Rockets, had a goal and six assists in 45 games this season.
The Vipers are headed for a second place finish this season in the BCHL’s Interior Division.
