The Terrace River Kings returned from Kitimat successful last Saturday, after beating out the Demons in a shootout on their home ice, Nov. 5.
The Ice Demons came out strong in the first period, when Adam Buick, assisted by Jeffery Mildenberger, scored at just past the two minute mark, followed shortly by Joshua March at 5:45.
Tristan Murray put the Kings on the scoreboard in the second period – scoring six minutes into play assisted by Josh Murray and Garrett Kerr.
Kitimat upped its lead to 3 – 1 four minutes after that when Jacob Pereira scored shorthanded and unassisted at the 10-minute mark.
With just one minute left in the second, Rich Clair, assisted by Skylar Andrews and Cameron Kerr, scored for the Kings, to bring the teams to 3 – 2 going into the second with Kitimat in the lead.
After six minutes of scoreless play, it was Derrick Jurista who tied things up for the River Kings, assisted by Calen and Joel Findlay ,who tied the teams up and sent the game into a shootout to determine the winner.
In the shootout, it would be Steve Cullis and Jeremy Van Den Broek to get two in for the River Kings, bringing the final score to 4 – 3.
The Kings will meet the Prince Rupert Rampage on home ice this Saturday, doors open at 7 p.m.
