The Sicamous Eagles wound up on the losing side of a 5-4 decision during away action last week.
On Jan. 12 the Eagles were in Armstrong to take on the North Okanagan Knights. The host team came out strong in the first period, managing 18 shots on Sicamous’ steadfast netminder Aaron Brandoli. Late in the frame, however, Eagle Andrew Nunn found the back of the Knights’ net with help from Jung Ahn and Corbin Marcotte.
The Knights potted their reply minutes later, but Sicamous broke the tie before the end of the period with a goal from Steven Powers, assisted by Marcotte.
In the second frame it was the Eagles out-shooting the Knights. But the North Okanagan team were able to get past Brandoli twice early in the period. Joel Kipp was able to tie things up before the period’s end.
Both teams were even in shooting by the third frame, but the Knights were able to find the back of the net twice before Sicamous was able to reply with a goal from Mark Arnold with a minute left on the clock.
