The Aldergrove Kodiaks returned to form before a hometown crowd, Oct. 21 at Aldergrove Arena, and were rewarded with a 6-0 blanking of the rival Langley Knights.
The Kodiaks took a 3-0 lead in the first period and never looked back, with two more in the second period and another in the third.
Scorers for Aldergrove were Joshua Pollock (unassisted), Brandon Dolby, Erik Bocale on a power play, Cameron Davitt, Matt Oliver and Ivan Vilcauskus on a power play.
Assists came from Elijah Vilio, Davitt, Eric Callegari (2), Spencer Unger, Quinncy Leroux, Dolby, Kyle Bosko and Dylan Geiger.
Davitt earned the game’s first star, Unger the second and Callegari the third.
The Kodiaks outshot the Knights 48-25 and the Knights failed to score on six power plays, while the Kodiaks scored on two of 11.
The Kodiaks return to second place in the Harold Brittain conference with 15 points after 13 games (7-5-0-1), eight points behind the division-leading Mission City Outlaws and two ahead of the Abbotsford Pilots.
The Kodiaks travel to play North Vancouver Wolf Pack on Saturday, Oct. 24 and host the Mission City Outlaws at Aldergrove Arena, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 7:15 p.m.
In November the Kodiaks travel to Burnaby to play the Grandview Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 1 and host the Richmond Sockeyes on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 7:15 p.m.
The Kodiaks travel to play the Abbotsford Pilots, Saturday, Nov. 7and host the Delta Ice Hawks on Remembrance Day Wednesday, Nov. 11, 7:15 p.m.
