The Aldergrove Kodiaks have won three games in a row and sit just four points out of top spot in the Harold Brittain conference.
The junior B hockey club edged the Abbotsford Pilots 5-4 in overtime on Nov. 26, won 6-5 over the Ridge Meadows Flames on Nov. 28 and capped off the week with a 7-4 win over the Mission City Outlaws on Nov. 29.
Aaron Markin and Jordan Funk scored two goals apiece against Mission.
Also scoring for the Kodiaks were Spencer McHaffie, Scott McHaffie and Brandon Dolby. Keeper Griffin Baillie stopped 33 of 37 shots on the Kodiaks net, while Outlaws keeper Jeffrey Veitch stopped 33 of 40.
First and third stars were Funk and Markin that night.
Markin also had the OT winner versus the Pilots, while Funk and Quinncy Leroux each scored twice.
Against the Flames, Brandon Dolby and Spencer McHaffie scored power-play goals in the final 4:19 for the one-goal victory. Both players scored twice in the win.
Also scoring against the Flames were Eric Callegari and Elvis Jansons. Keeper Ben Giesbrecht stopped 29 of 34 shots on the Kodiaks goal, and Flames keeper Tyler Read stopped 27 of 33.
First and third stars of the night were Leroux and Dolby.
The six points give the Kodiaks a record of 9-8-2-4 and their 24 points are just two back of the Langley Knights and four back of the Pilots for first place in the PJHL’s Harold Brittain Conference. The Kodiaks also have a game in hand.
The Kodiaks are back in action on Wednesday (Dec. 3) against the Port Moody Panthers at the Aldergrove Arena.
