Koehler takes over first in Haney Master’s Curling league

Consistent shot-making powered the Peter Koehler rink to a 9-4 victory over Lorne Fletcher and sole possession of first place

Consistent shot-making powered the Peter Koehler rink to a 9-4 victory over Lorne Fletcher and sole possession of first place in Haney Masters’ curling action.

Koehler’s rink remains the only undefeated team with a 6-0 record, as Gregg Hook suffered his first loss at the hands of Roger Fast.

Fletcher’s rink of Chuck Lilley, John Jacobs and Ernie Westmacott could not match the shots of Koehler’s rink.   With his rink sitting four in the house in the second end, Koehler set up a perfect guard to steal four and grab a 6-0 lead on his way to the victory.

Fast’s rink dominated  from the outset, with Al Goldsack (third), William Ritchie (second), and Bill Seminoff (lead) setting up each end in a 8-2 win over Hook.

Jim Maitland, along with Steve Senko, Arnie Melissen and Bob Neil, continued the upsets with a 6-0 whitewash over the Jack Stadel rink.
