The Kwalikum Secondary Kondors senior boys basketball team is heading to the Island championships in Victoria this weekend after a third place finish at the North Island tournament.

After finishing in first place for the regular season, the Kondors were up against Brentwood College, who has been provincially ranked for the majority of their season.

The Kondors dropped that game by a score of 71-47, finding their way to the third and fourth place game against the Gulf Island Scorpions.

The Kondors would go on to beat the Scorpions by 25 points to advance to the Island tournament, which kicks off Friday against the host St. Michaels Blue Devils.

With the top three teams earning a spot in the provincial tournament, the Kondors will have to pull off an upset if they want to get back to the big tournament after making it there last season.
