The Kimberley Seahorse Swim Club sent a mini, but mighty, contingent to the home swim meet of the Revelstoke Aquaducks. Over the July 7-8 weekend, a few of our amazing swimmers attended a meet outside of our region. This gave our swimmers, and head coach, the opportunity to see some different competitors from around the province.
“It was amazing to see what else BCSSA has to offer competitively. It was a blast to swim at the Revelstoke meet, and the club plans on attending next year as well”, said Coach Jackson.
The Seahorse swimmers competed well. The club sent 11 swimmers, and came back to Kimberley with 4 medals and many personal best times. Brooke Burki and Luke Stopanski brought home gold, Cliff Jarvis came back with a silver, and Coach Jackson Sorenson brought home the bronze.
All swimmers and club families are very excited for the upcoming weekend. July 14-15, 2018 marks the annual swim meet in Kimberley. Swimmers and parents spent Wednesday, July 4, 2018 creating team spirit posters. This year the theme for the Kimberley swim meet is Super Heroes, and the swimmers and coaches could not me more thrilled. The meet is a two-day event, and the club will be hosting Kootenay teams from Nelson, Trail, Castlegar, Grand Forks, Creston and Colville, Washington.
If you are interested in the swim meet or have children thinking about becoming competitive swimmers, this is a great opportunity to come and see what the Seahorse Team Spirit is. The meet begins at 9am both days. There will be a silent auction and a fabulous concession. Come out and support our local swimmers at a great local event.
