L.V. Rogers will send its boys soccer team to the AA Provincial Championships in Burnaby next month.

The Bombers won their two zone playdown games Oct. 11 to book a ticket to provincials, which run Nov. 18 to 20.

In the first game, LVR had to overcome an early penalty shot to beat Castlegar’s Stanley Humphries Secondary 2-1.

The visitors went ahead in the first minute on a penalty, but just one minute later LVR’s Moss Caney converted a pass from Keegan Carmichael into the tying goal.

The pair worked together again in the 64th minute to put LVR ahead for good when Carmichael’s volley pass found Caney for the 2-1 lead.

Caney and Carmichael also each scored early in LVR’s 5-0 win against Invermere’s David Thompson Secondary.

Caney put LVR ahead in the third minute and Carmichael added another just two minutes later.

Callum Cutler’s low shot after a perfect chip over the top by Caney gave LVR a 3-0 lead in the 10th minute, and the rout was on.

Pikoi Krempl Tinglin scored in the 28th minute, and Johnny Michalchuk added the finishing touch in the 69th minute by scoring off his own rebound.
