Lace up Dec. 31 to Run Through Time

Oak Bay High is back in action for the Senior Boys Basketball Invitational, Dec. 28 to 30 at CARSA

Fresh from the excitement of the Gary Taylor Classic, Oak Bay High is back in action  for the Senior Boys Basketball Invitational, Dec. 28 to 30 in the CARSA Performance Gym.

Dec. 28 has games starting at 3 p.m., with Oak Bay taking to the court at 6:30 p.m. wh en they’ll take on Vashon Island high school. St. Michaels follows at 8:15 p.m. facing Harry Ainlay secondary. Playoffs continue Thursday, with tip-offs from 3 p.m. to 8:15 p.m, with the championship game Saturday at 2:15 p.m. Daily admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students.

The Victoria Royals are also back in action after a nine-day break from games with two back-to-back home games. The Royals host the Prince George Cougars on Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 7:05 p.m. at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.

The 28th annual Run Through Time happens Saturday, Dec. 31, in support of Runners for Compassion and Every Step Counts. The 5km run and 3km walk starts at the UVic’s McKinnon Building, then wraps around Ring Road and into the inner core and back out. With registration, receive a free head lamp to light your run.
