Ladies hold their last night

Chinook Cove Ladies Golf Report

By Leslie Stirling

I feel like that little gremlin that cries at the end of one of the comedy shows on the Comedy Network.  Mommy!   It’s Over!

The Chinook Cove Ladies Night golf season is over.  I have such a good time with the ladies – teasing, being teased, laughing, eating and once in a while actually golfing.  What will I do during the winter?

Our sponsors are a huge part of what makes our Ladies Night so successful, and this is a special thanks to you all.

I must also mention the prize winners from this weeks Sept. 6 golf.

I promised Emma Allen.  She took such a load of teasing from me last week about her short drive that it is imperative that I mention that she won a prize for her long drive this week.  Flight #1 winners for the last game of the year were Barb Kavanagh for low gross with a score of 43 and Christina LeCerf for low net with a score of 47.

In Flight #2 Sandy Lebourdais won low gross and Debbie Rainer won low net.  Both ladies scored a 46 but Sandy won by retrogression.  Caley Jones, my newest friend from Clearwater scored a 48 to win low gross for Flight #3.  Vicki Hoffer took home the prize money for her deuce on Hole #4 and Cori Walker took the birdie prize pot for her birdie on Hole #1.  Debbie Rainer did well with her putter to win low putts and Sue Paulhus deserves a lot of credit for handling my teasing so well when it comes to most putts.

All those wonderful prizes from our sponsors were won by Bernice Randrup, Emma Allen, Cori Walker, Wanda Amos, Marian Wallace (2), Deb Legaree, Vicki Hoffer, Betty Baillie, Tanya Desjarlais, Freda Saunders, Helen Fraser, Karen Peterson, Lois Keller, Barb Kavanagh, Sandy Lebourdais and Caley Jones.

Debbie Rainer as Captain and shopper extraordinaire does an excellent job purchasing door prizes throughout the year and we were pleased to have enough so that not one of the 42 ladies present went home empty handed.

Susan Mitchell made a presentation to Captain Debbie and Secretary-Treasurer Leslie on behalf of Chinook Cove Golf in appreciation of their eighth year at the helm of this motley crew.

By the time this paper arrives on your doorstep the Club Champion Low Gross and Low Net winners will have been determined.  In those immortal words of Liza Minnelli from Cabaret “Maybe this time I’ll win”.
