It has been a couple of weeks since there has been an update on the Ladies Night Golf.

On May 29 the weather was terrible and the four ladies that did brave the elements got very wet.

On June 5 the sun came out and 10 golfers were out to enjoy themselves.

Carol Hindle did well in the Flight #1 skill holes and Jane Olson shone in Flight #2. Everyone in Flight #3 won at least one of the skills holes. However, closest to the pin is still eluding most of our golfers.

June 12 Ladies night was another success despite the light showers and threatening clouds. We had 18 women out and two of them were guests from the Barriere course.

Again it pays to be a guest here at Lacarya as the Deuce Pot was won by Val Williams from Barriere. Deb Rainer, also from Barriere, did not go home empty handed either, as she won one of the door prizes.

The winners for June 12 were: Low gross – Carol Hindle, Bev Leinweber, Abbey Bates; Low Net – Karen Peterson, Jan Johnston, Joan Streadwick; KP – Tanya Desjarlais, Jan J; Long drive – Karen P, Bev L (WOW what a hit Bev), Reita Vandenborre; Long Putt – Tanya D (4’3”), Jane Olson (6’11”), Eileen Sedgwick (12’4”); Least Putts was shared between Carole H and Abbey B. Most Putts went to Val Williams.

No one put any balls into the lake on #1. Or maybe no one owned up to it.

Carol H got the longest putt for all flights. Anna Mae Dee was closest to the windmill and Karen P won the Hidden Score game.

Our sponsors for the last two ladies night have been: Home Hardware, Wells Gray Inn, Rona, TNT, Pharmasave, The Caboose, O’Bryans Café, Clearwater Computers, Century 21 Realty, The Painted Turtle Restaurant, Absolute Hair, and Safety Mart Foods.

Thank you to our sponsors and to all who came out. We would love to see new golfers out as they could always learn from the steady golfers who come out year after year.

See you next Thursday. Please call Abbey at 674-2127 if you have any questions regarding Ladies Night.
