Lady Striders welcome you

From its inception with walking and jogging, the group has expanded activities to include hiking, snowshoeing, skiing and cycling.

The Shuswap Lady Striders are group of women who have been meeting together weekly to participate in physical activities for more than 20 years. From its inception with walking and jogging, the group has expanded activities to include hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and cycling.

Fitness, friendship and fun is their simple motto and they boast a membership of well over 130 women. Striders is a community-minded group that continues to give support financially to other community groups such as Shuswap Trail Alliance, SABNES, the Women’s Shelter, Second Harvest and Larch Hills Nordic Club.

For three years, the Striders have sponsored a 5/10-km. walk or run. Proceeds are donated to the Shuswap Trail Alliance for maintenance and building of trails. This year’s event is set for Sunday, May 27.

The group welcomes new members and any woman interested should contact Lynne at lstorey@shaw.ca  or Aureline at aureline@airspeedwireless.ca.
