The U11 AA Ladysmith 49ers hosted the Regional Island Tournament at Holland Creek ballpark during the final weekend in July.
There were five teams from the Island and only the top two moved on the provincial tournament hosted by Comox on the August long weekend.
Ladysmith 49ers went and impressive 4-0 and won the regionals advancing to the provincial championship on Aug 2-5.
At the provincials, the 49ers went 4-0 in round robin play earning them a birth to the semi-finals. After a hard fought playoff round, the 49ers fell short and walked away with a fourth place finish in B.C.
” I am extremely proud of our team and their accomplishments at the Regional and BC tournaments. Each players commitment and hard work contributed to the teams success,” said head coach Marty Steen.
