The Ladysmith Peewee U13A will gain some all-important experience after the team qualified for the B.C. provinal championships in Burnaby this week.
The tournament runs from Thursday to Sunday and will be a step-up for the team made up of players from Ladysmith and Cedar as they look to do the town proud.
Ladysmith qualified for zones after losing to Victoria on Saturday then coming back to beat rival Duncan and Salt Spring to finish first.
The team plays South Burnaby on Thursday at 12 p.m. and on Friday they will swing the bats against Burnaby once again at noon.
Later that day at 6 p.m. Ladysmith will play Tsawwassen and Saturday they have a game against Powell River at 12 p.m. The top two teams from each pool plays on Sunday for a chance to be crowned champions.
