Lake Hill Lawn Bowling Club rolls out welcome mat

Open house runs Saturday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The Lake Hill Lawn Bowling Club is rolling out the green carpet on Saturday for an open house to let people know about the sport and the social aspects of the club that take place throughout the year.

It’s a great opportunity to find out about the game, tour the facility and meet the club’s members and coaches, said Lake Hill Bowling Club member Haji Charania.

“The sport combines physical and recreational activities with eight or nine social events throughout the year,” he said. “We want more people to make the club their home away from home.”

The club has been in existence since 1931 and currently has 140 full-time and 20 social members.

The open house includes free lessons and refreshments and runs from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Lake Hill Lawn Bowling Club is at 3930 Lasalle St. just off Reynolds Road near the intersection of McKenzie Avenue and Quadra Street.
