The Kalamalka Lakers and Fulton Maroons advanced to Thursday afternoon’s North Zone Senior AA Girls Soccer League final.

Both teams qualified for the Okanagan Valley Championships next week in Kelowna with semifinal wins Tuesday.

The host Lakers, coached by Dan McLaughlin, punched their ticket to the Valleys by grounding the undermanned Pleasant Valley Saints of Armstrong 5-0.

Kal spread the scoring around with goals from Megan Squair, Teigan Moore, Lauren Wishart, Emily Thorlakson and Paige Ralston.

Pleasant Valley was scheduled to battle the VSS Panthers in a Valley wildcard game.

Fulton shut down the Panthers 3-0 in the other semifinal, at Marshall Field.

Shelby Hughes opened the Maroons’ attack after taking a cross from Aryana Jacura.

The Maroons, coached by Eric Ladner, kept pressing and Jacura fed Ashley Eso for a 2-0 lead. VSS gave up an own goal to complete the scoring.

Rajvir Randhawa and Carlee Meausette were marvellous controlling the ball on the Maroon  offence, while Lee Richardson and Sam Orr were bold in the defensive zone.

The Valleys go Tuesday and Wednesday.
