A 19-year-old right-wing from Burnaby scored the lone goal for Vancouver’s Giants in Spokane Friday evening.
Ty Ronning is credited with securing the only point of the game for the G-Men when they went up against the Chiefs in the second of three games on their U.S. road trip this week.
The Giants lost 10-1.
The Chiefs struck first a little more than five minutes into the game when Hudson Elynuik tallied his first goal of the night on a power play.
Ronning equalized for Vancouver a few minutes later, scoring his eighth goal of the season on a rebound, but Hayden Ostir put Spokane ahead again with another goal on a man advantage later in the period.
Taylor Ross scored a power play goal in the second period while Curtis Miske and Jaret Anderson-Dolan found the net at even strength. Anderson-Dolan and Elynuik each scored twice more in the third period while Eli Zummack bagged his first goal in the league.
Vancouver was out shot 29-23.
Spokane went 5-for-7 on the power play.
The Giants will conclude their road trip tonight (Saturday, Nov. 26) trying again to beat the Tri-City Americans. The G-Men faced off against the Tri-City Americans in Kennewick, Wash. on Wednesday, and lost 5-1.
The Langley-based Giants have their next home game on Tuesday, Nov. 29, against the Prince George Cougars at the Langley Events Centre.
