Langley Baseball gets to dust off the bases for the Canadian championships for the next three years.
From 2017 to 2019, the Intermediate (50/70) League Canadian Championship will have a new home.
The intermediate division is players 11 to 13.
Langley has been home to Little League baseball for 57 years, so the 2019 tournament will coincide with a milestone for the local organization.
“Langley Baseball is honoured to have been selected by Little League Canada as the host for the Intermediate Canadian Tournament,” said Langley Baseball president Dan McLaren. “Our club has just completed its 57th year of baseball in Langley under Little League and I see the awarding of the tournament as a catalyst to boost the numbers and the intensity of our players, parent membership, and our city to host a great tournament.”
Langley has already hosted district, provincial and national tournaments, as well as being home field for the champions who won the 2000 Big League World Series.
Little League features players from four to 19 and the B.C. League has 550 players.
