As part of ParticipACTION 150 and National Bowls Day, the Langley Lawn Bowling Club is hosting an open house on Saturday, June 3, from 1 to 3 p.m.
The lawnbowling club is located at 20471 54th Ave., at the south end of Douglas Park.
People can give it a try, but they are being asked to wear flat-soled shoes.
The club was founded in 1979, but the facilities have been in operation since 1982, when the Douglas Park lawn bowling green was built by the City of Langley (with funding from the Langley Rotary Club and the Province of British Columbia).
According to the club, its success through the years is attributed to the friendly and hard-working volunteers in its membership.
The bowling season at Langley LBC runs from late April to mid-September.
