Langley team’s good deeds win award

The Langley Eagles are vying for a national prize now.

The Langley Peewee A3 Eagles have been named the BC regional winners of the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.

The Eagles were awarded for giving back to the community by collecting used sports equipment to support REC for Kids.

That effort followed their work earlier this winter clearing snow from 16 kilometres of sidewalk and collecting 45 large sacks of litter. The team is now in the running for a grand prize, which includes a $5,000 donation to the charity of the team’s choice, $10,000 for the team, and $5,000 for BC Hockey, and to bring the Good Deeds Cup to Langley.

The team’s goal is to get the $5,000 for REC for Kids.

In order to achieve that, the Eagles need the public to vote for their team video at www.chevrolethockey.com.

Voting begins March 22.
