Louise Forsyth is one of the 57 athletes invited to Canada Basketball’s age group assessment camp.

The camp begins today (Friday) and runs through Monday at the University of Toronto in Mississauga.

The Langley teen is looking to land a spot on Canada’s U19 women’s team for this summer’s FIBA U19 world championships.

The competition will be held in Italy in July.

Should she make it, it would  be the third straight summer Forsyth has worn the Maple Leaf.

Two years ago, she helped Canada win gold at the U16 FIBA Americas championships.

After final cuts, two teams will be formed from the 57 invitees — a U19 squad and a U16 team.

Forsyth, who graduates from Brookswood Secondary in June, was a key member of the Bobcats senior girls basketball team which won bronze earlier this month at the B.C. AAA high school championships. She earned first team all-star honours.

Forsyth played on the senior girls team every year of high school, helping the ’Cats win three gold, one silver and one bronze medal in her five years.

Forsyth is set to Gonzaga University in September on a basketball scholarship.
