The losses continue to mount for the Langley Thunder.
The Thunder dropped to 1-11 after a 15-7 loss to the visiting Victoria Shamrocks in Western Lacrosse Association action Wednesday at the Langley Events Centre.
The game was never in doubt.
The Shamrocks jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first period before Langley’s Jakob Doucet got the home team on the board with just under five minutes to go in the opening frame.
The Thunder’s best period was the middle one, in which they scored three unanswered goals to narrow their deficit to 10-6.
Victoria took over the rest of the way by scoring the final five goals of the night.
Jesse King led the Shamrocks with four goals and five assists.
Rhys Duch, who plays for the Langley-based Vancouver Stealth during the National Lacrosse League season, chipped in with a goal and seven helpers.
Duch’s Stealth and Shamrocks teammate, Corey Small, also had a big night offensively with two goals and three assists.
Matt Kristiansen scored twice for the Thunder in a losing cause.
The Thunder, who sit last in the seven-team WLA standings, will take on the third place Maple Ridge Burrards Saturday at the LEC. Game time is 7:45 p.m.
