There are several spots available for the 27th annual Hoops and Hustle basketball camp, which goes Aug. 7-10 at Fulton Secondary.
Taught by university-level coaches, the program provides basketball fundamentals and is regarded as one of the top summer camps in the province.
The program is for boys and girls entering Grades 4-12. Grade 4-7 athletes go from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day, with the Grade 8-12s going from 1-5 p.m. daily.
The cost is $125 and includes four days of instruction, T-shirt and basketball. Participants receive two clinics and one game per day.
Chris (Bubba) Filios, assistant coach with the Seattle Pacific University Falcons, will be this year’s guest coach. He spent seven seasons – four as manager and three as an assistant – with the Gonzaga Bulldogs, helping the men’s team go 184-44 (81 per cent winning). Over that span, the Bulldogs won seven West Coast Conference Championships, with two appearances in the Sweet 16.
